Number 10: Medal of Honor

I feel I am being very generous about this game for I feel it was a big let-down for the series. The new game was supposed to reboot the series but in my opinion it just booted the game down into the pit of disappointment. The series was started in 1999 when it was created by director/producer Steven Spielberg. The series was traditionally set in WWII but the new game was set in modern day Afghanistan which is a big difference and a risk for EA. Unfortunately it hasn't worked out with it resembling an almost clone of another FPS EA game *cough Bad Company 2 cough*. The campaign was exciting at times with me driving a quad bike  over the rough hills of Afghanistan but it was spoiled by the constant instruction of 'Lock down where you are and wait for back up'. This happened about five times  during the game and even on a relatively easy mode it became quite hard to keep up with all of the enemies that were rushing at me from all directions. Also I realise that this game may be more about realism but it took an impossible amount of bullets to kill some enemies especially in the defend missions.

Luckily for me before I found the nearest gun and killed myself for real after 50 bloody million deaths there were some flying around in a gunship helicopter shooting both missiles and machine guns a unfortunate enemies on the ground as well as the sniping from long range across a mountain watching the enemies fall. And then there was the multiplayer. I could tell it was going to be a high definition experience as soon as I started having explosives throwing up earth with their blasts and trails of projectiles appearing past me as a crouched by the road. But again I got the feeling of Bad Company 2 being copied and pasted into this game. They have exactly the same game modes as each other, you are only able to get three classes with the guns being almost the same and there was a load of controversy about the naming of one of the online multiplayer teams as the Taliban and the fact that you can kill British soldiers which I found stupid seeing as you can play as the Nazis in many games who killed far more people than the Taliban ever have. The sniper in my opinion was really hard to unlock things for because it starts off with a sniper rifle with no scope so you can't aim. The guns you start with are really weak so you have to get multiple shots in for a single kill and by the time you had someone lined up in your sights ready to kill another enemy will have sneaked up behind you and taken you out.

Overall the game is a moderately well made with nice graphics, bad storyline and choices in the campaign are ruining the chances the game had of being a very good revival of the series. The multiplayer mode sort of made up for the awful single player but even that wasn't the easiest to play with and progress to a decent level.

I give it 7/10 which I feel is generous.

Greatest Games of 2010.

As we look back at the past year we realise that we have had some revolutionary technologies given to us, the consumers. We have had the amazing games created either fairly recently or one that has been worked on for over five years. And so to celebrate the past year of video games innovation I am counting down the top 10 (or so) games of the year. I want to remind you that these are just my personal opinions so please don't give me any grief.
